Bequette earns practice honor

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Rookie defensive end Jake Bequette, the Patriots' third-round draft choice out of Arkansas, has played in just one game this season and thus his on-field contributions have been limited.

But as Bequette works behind the scenes, he has made his mark in a different way, earning practice player of the week honors.

The Patriots recognize practice players of the week as those who best help prepared the team in the days leading up to a victory.

Bequette was one of five award winners this week for his work leading up to the Jets win, along with receiver Julian Edelman, practice squad defensive lineman Marcus Forston, defensive end Justin Francis and practice squad receiver Greg Salas.
