LONDON -- Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski delivered three memorable spikes this weekend in London.
The first came at Saturday's FanFest when he spiked a microphone on stage, drawing laughter from teammates. The second and third came during the Patriots' 45-7 victory over the Rams at Wembley Stadium, both of which were followed by light-hearted celebrations.
The first, after a 7-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter, was meant to replicate a guard at Buckingham Palace.
"The little Nutcracker dude, guarding the house, the palace," Gronkowski explained in his own unique way. "I like how he just sits there and stays still. It's pretty cool. I give credit to Chandler [Jones]. He told me to do it."
The second celebration came after a 14-yard catch in the fourth quarter, which was more of a dance move. Gronkowski didn't go into too many details on that one.
"I don't know, you have to ask Deion [Branch]. He knows," Gronkowski said.
As for his favorite spike of the weekend, Gronkowski picked the one with the microphone.
"That was pretty good," he said with a chuckle.
Gronkowski was one of the Patriots' stars in Sunday's win, totaling eight receptions for 146 yards and the two touchdowns.
