Patriots & Dolphins inactives

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The Patriots have announced the final four inactive players for their contest against the Miami Dolphins, with tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, offensive lineman Mitch Petrus, fullback James Develin and defensive back Derrick Martin joining guard Logan Mankins (calf/ankle), defensive end Chandler Jones (ankle) and tight end Rob Gronkowski (forearm), who were previously declared out by the team.

That means that offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, spotted working out with members of the team's training staff on the field this morning, is active and would be expected to start.

Petrus was added to the injury report on Saturday night due to an illness, but the remainder of the inactives would classify under the healthy scratch label. Because Shiancoe is inactive, the team will dress just three tight ends: Aaron Hernandez, Daniel Fells, and Michael Hoomanawanui, who has been used in a fullback role often this season.

Develin was signed from the team's practice squad earlier this week, while Martin was recently re-signed after spending part of training camp with the team.
