Patriots stories on ESPNBoston

MIAMI -- In addition to the blog entries in this space, ESPNBoston's coverage team wrote the following stories:

1. Not satisfied with division title, already looking ahead to Texans. Mike Reiss captures the scene in the locker room, with players saying they're not satisfied with a division title because they have larger goals. They are already thinking about next Monday's game against the Texans.

2. Wonder of Wes. Field Yates points out that Patriots receiver Wes Welker somehow slips under the radar, but as Sunday reinforced, Welker continues to prove that he's not just among the top slot receivers in all of football; he's simply one of the best offensive players in the NFL.

And here's an interesting note on Welker's afternoon from ESPN Stats & Information: All 12 of Welker’s catches came on throws 10 yards or fewer downfield. The only receiver with more catches on short throws in a single game this season? Welker, who caught 13 in a Week 5 win against the Broncos.
