Spikes: Ravens game was my worst

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – When Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes looks back on his performance against the Ravens on Sept. 23, he doesn’t like what he sees.

“I played my worst game of the season,” Spikes said Thursday. “I definitely want to come out and do a lot better.”

Spikes wasn’t making excuses, but he previously explained that part of the reason for his play was that he was uncomfortable with his footwear that day.

“I just don’t think I was prepared and I made mistakes I don’t normally make,” he said. “I watched the game and it wasn’t the Brandon Spikes that I know. I definitely want to come out and [rebound] off a game like that.”

Spikes, who had fellow linebacker Jerod Mayo playfully attempting to distract him during his interview, was asked what type of game he expects from the Ravens.

“Physical. A tough game,” he answered. “Honestly, in my opinion, if you like football this is the game you want to be in as a kid growing up. Big rivalry game. It’s just going to be a tough, physical game all the way around. ... Playoff game, it's all on the line, we're at home, physical, tough -- that's what it's all about. We're going to be ready. We'll see on Sunday.”
