Another perspective on free agents

CBSSports.com Senior NFL columnist Pete Prisco's annual top 50 free-agent list is anticipated at this address, as it usually has a unique twist to it compared to others.

The list is now posted and Prisco lays out his criteria:

1. No franchise-tagged players.

2. No restricted free agents.

3. No players in the top 10 who will turn 30 this year because "that's too old to be paying big-money, long-term deals."

With that criteria, the Patriots are the only club to have two free agents in the top 10 as Prisco ranks cornerback Aqib Talib as his fifth-best free agent, while starting right tackle Sebastian Vollmer is his sixth.

On Talib: "In terms of ability, he can cover. But he has baggage that will surely drive down his price. But he can play man coverage, which teams want. He is only 27."

On Vollmer: "He has some back issues that could be a concern, but he played well in 2012. He is good in pass protection and is solid in the run game."

There is one other Patriot on the list -- receiver Wes Welker. He checks in at No. 31.
