Ravens' opener & impact on Pats

PHOENIX -- Interesting development here at the NFL's annual meeting as it relates to the Ravens' season-opening game, which per NFL tradition with defending Super Bowl champions was expected to be played in Baltimore on Thursday, Sept. 5.

The Patriots, as previously noted, were one of eight options to play in that game. They were considered one of the top candidates.

But a story on the Ravens' website notes that a scheduling conflict with the Orioles could lead to the Ravens opening on the road.

The league often announces its opening-weekend prime-time games here at the NFL annual meeting, and this is a developing storyline we'll be following.
