After parting ways with a trio of players earlier on Wednesday, the Patriots have added a defensive lineman, agreeing to terms with Scott Vallone, according to a league source.
Vallone, 23, went undrafted in April after a productive career at Rutgers university. He was not invited to the NFL combine, but checked in at 6-foot-2 and 281 at his Pro Day this spring. He becomes the ninth former Scarlet Knight on the Patriots roster, six of which are rookies.
He projects to work as an interior defensive lineman, where he excelled during his college career.
The news was first reported by Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
