Picked-up Patriots pieces around Web

Some Patriots-based links of note from around the Web over the weekend:

Getting to know Garoppolo. Ben Volin of the Boston Globe travels to Illinois to catch up with family members and coaches of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and produces a piece that gives Patriots followers a better feel for the team's second-round pick (62nd overall) and potential succession plan for Tom Brady down the line. One of the things learned is that Garoppolo has studied Tom Brady as the quarterback he'd most like to emulate from a mechanics standpoint. "He liked New England. It was different from every other team he visited,” Garoppolo's father Tony, says in the piece. “I remember him saying that there was a lot more playbook stuff than any other team. [Offensive coordinator] Josh McDaniels went through hours of an interview with him, with the playbook, when other teams were just basic."

Getting to know Easley. Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald produces a feature story on first-round draft choice Dominique Easley by speaking with family members and coaches. One thing we learned is that the day after getting drafted, Easley wanted to return to his Staten Island, N.Y. high school to deliver words of advice to students. "It brought tears to my eyes when they told me that,,” Easley’s mother, Carine, says in the piece.

Kraft goes 1-on-1 with 'Only a Game.' Patriots owner Robert Kraft took part in a sit-down interview with Bill Littlefield for the 20th anniversary live show of "Only a Game." The Q&A from the interview, which includes Kraft sharing thoughts on Bill Belichick and the game of football in general, can be read on WBUR's webite.
