The New England Patriots announced Monday that their first training camp practice open to the public will be Thursday, July 24. Veteran players are scheduled to report on July 23.
The team's initial schedule includes one practice on each of the first four days -- Thursday, July 24, Friday, July 25, Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27. Practices start at 9:15 a.m. ET.
Per NFL rules, the first two days of practice can't be held in full pads, meaning they are likely to be more of an extension of spring minicamps held in light shoulder pads. The first full-pads practice can be held on Saturday, July 26.
Training camp is free and open to the public. This marks the 12th straight year the team has held training camp at Gillette Stadium.
The Patriots open the preseason with a road game against the Redskins on Thursday, Aug. 7. The teams have already announced that joint practices between the teams will be held at the Redskins' facility in Richmond, Virginia, in the three days leading up to the game.
