Setting Patriots' Monday schedule

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Last July, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick summed up three goals he hopes to hit every year.

  1. Build a winning football team.

  2. Be a strong pillar in the community

  3. Be a team that fans can be proud of.

Those three goals are revisited today because it highlights the "main event" on the schedule. At 6 p.m. ET, the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation hosts the "Patriots Premiere" on the field at Gillette Stadium. One of the highlights of the event is the announcement of the team's 2014 Ron Burton Community Service Award winner.

This is also usually the day we see some Patriots rookies with creative haircuts.

Here's a look at the media schedule:

12 p.m. ET -- Media access to locker room

1:30 p.m. ET -- Media access to practice

6 p.m. -- Patriots Premiere

This is also the time of year in which there are multiple footballs in the air. Many of the players will now shift their focus to the regular-season opener against the Dolphins, while there's also the preseason finale against the Giants to account for as well. The team is scheduled to travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Wednesday in advance of Thursday's preseason finale.
