After throwing for 304 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-7 rout over the St. Louis Rams in London, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 8, it was announced on Wednesday.
It marks the 22nd time that Brady has taken home the weekly honor, tying him with Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning for the most ever.
It was the ninth time in Brady's career that he has thrown for at least 300 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in a single game, tying him with Saints quarterback Drew Brees for the most in NFL history. Brady also became just the fourth player in NFL history to throw for 300 yards in a single game 50 times in his career.
Through eight games in 2012, Brady has thrown 16 touchdowns compared with just three interceptions, and leads the NFL with 2,408 yards passing.
