Source: DE Abraham to visit Pats

Add another defensive free agent to the list of players who will visit the Patriots, as defensive end John Abraham will be in Foxborough on Friday to meet with the club, a league source confirmed.

The visit had been previously reported by Mike Garofolo of USA Today and Albert Breer of NFL.com and NFL Network.

Abraham, 34, finished the 2012 season with 10 sacks as a member of the Falcons, who recently released him due to salary-cap ramifications.

He was originally drafted by the Jets in the first round back in 2000, and played for them for five seasons. He has 122 career sacks in 12 seasons, including seven seasons with double-digit sacks.

For the Patriots, Abraham would provide a veteran pass-rushing presence to supplement Chandler Jones and Rob Ninkovich, who combined for 14 sacks last season.

Abraham has recently visited both the Seahawks and 49ers.
