Mayo back at practice; Hernandez out

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo (elbow/illness) returned to practice on Thursday, the team's final session of the week before traveling to London.

Meanwhile, tight end Aaron Hernandez was not spotted at the start of Thursday's session, after practicing on Wednesday. Two weeks ago, Hernandez missed the team's final practice of the week but still played against the Seattle Seahawks, so his absence today isn't a major concern.

Mayo played in Sunday's win over the New York Jets after suffering the elbow injury, so his absence on Wednesday was more likely related to an illness. He appears likely to play on Sunday in London.

Running back Brandon Bolden (knee), safety Steve Gregory (hip), defensive end Trevor Scott (hamstring), cornerback Ras-I Dowling (thigh), and linebacker Tracy White (foot) were not spotted at the start of Thursday's practice.
