No limitations for Beckett in Saturday return

SEATTLE -- Josh Beckett returns to the Boston rotation Saturday night in Safeco, matching up with the Mariners' Erasmo Ramirez.

Beckett hasn't pitched in a game since June 11. He was placed on the disabled list on June 16 (retroactive to June 12) with right shoulder inflammation.

Valentine said that in talking with pitching coach Bob McClure, there doesn't seem to be any special limitations for Beckett as he returns to work.

"He's healthy, and I expected a good performance from him," the manager said. "He seems in very good spirits.

"I think he's better than he was (before the injury cropped up). And he was pitching good when he stopped pitching."
