Ellsbury scratched, replaced by Kalish

BOSTON -- In a late change, Ryan Kalish replaces Jacoby Ellsbury as center fielder and leadoff man for the Red Sox in the third game of their series with the Minnesota Twins.

Ellsbury is out because of what manager Bobby Valentine said was a minor leg issue. He said the day off is a precautionary measure and that the leg shouldn't be a problem.

"I'm just being safe with Jacoby," Valentine said. "He has a very little situation that he wanted to play through and with the day game tomorrow, I vetoed it."

Here's the revised lineup:

1. Ryan Kalish, CF

2. Carl Crawford, LF

3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B

4. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B

5. Cody Ross, RF

6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, DH

7. Mike Aviles, SS

8. Kelly Shoppach, C

9. Nick Punto, 3B
