Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine addressed the rumors he will be let go after this season and weighed in on his time managing in Boston on his weekly radio appearance on ESPN NY 98.7 FM's Michael Kay show on Friday.
Addressing the media coverage during his tenure, Valentine said, "I don't know if it's unfair or not, but it's ridiculously nitpicky ... since the beginning of the season. But I guess that's the way it is, I don't care."
On whether he thinks he'll be fired at the end of the year, Valentine said no one with the Red Sox has told him that's the case.
"Why wouldn't I want to be back? I signed up for this. This is my job and my life right now," Valentine said.
