BOSTON -- In the seventh inning, Shane Victorino awkwardly crashed into the wall in right field on an attempt to catch a fly ball by Jonathan Herrera, and for his troubles got not only a three-base error but a headache.
After being looked at by manager John Farrell and the team trainer, Victorino stayed in the game.
"He hit a bolt that holds up one of those signs," Farrell said. "It's not that he suffered a gash but it hit him in a tough spot right above the ear. Kind of lost his footing going after the ball and, like I said, it seems like he's finding a wall on a daily basis."
