PHILADELPHIA –- The Red Sox were pretty happy with themselves after dismissing the Phillies in two of three games this weekend at Citizens Bank Park. But as the Sox were packing their bags to head to Tampa, David Ortiz was clearly shaken up about the tragic news of former major league pitcher, and Dominican Republic native, Jose Lima passing away of an apparent heart attack Saturday night.
“He was like a brother to me, man,” said Ortiz. “It’s [expletive] up, man.”
Ortiz said he plans on calling Lima’s widow some time in the very near future. Lima was 37.
