Fenway pays tribute to Lanzillotti, Campbell

BOSTON -- Flags at Fenway Park were flown at half-staff Monday in memory of 28-year-old Jack Lanzillotti, the Fenway in-game production manager who was killed in a pedestrian/automobile accident in the Back Bay on June 21. Also killed in the accident was Lanzillotti’s girlfriend, Jessica Campbell, 27.

PA announcer Henry Mahegan, who worked closely on a nightly basis with Lanzillotti, asked for a moment of silence in the memory of Lanzillotti, who also was paid tribute with the kind of video package he was so skilled in producing, this one set to the music of Bruce Springsteen’s “Jack of All Trades.’’

Many of Lanzillotti’s colleagues, including everyone in the team’s production booth, wore T-shirts that read, “I Work for Jack.” Members of Lanzillotti’s family were present at the ceremony, which also noted the passing of Campbell. Some employees were openly weeping on the field during the ceremony.
