Sox lineup: Johnson, Butler make debuts

There are a couple of debuts being made this afternoon for the Red Sox, less than 24 hours after the 19-inning marathon that left them sucking wind and looking for reinforcements.

Kelly Johnson, who was traded from the Yankees for Stephen Drew on July 31, will make his Red Sox debut at first base. Catcher Dan Butler, called up to replace the injured David Ross, will make his major league debut behind the plate.

Reliever Heath Hembree, who pitched 4 scoreless innings for the Red Sox last night, was optioned to Pawtucket in favor of a fresh arm in lefty Edwin Escobar. Both players were acquired last month from the Giants in the Jake Peavy trade.

David Ortiz is sitting out, with Mike Napoli in the DH spot.
