Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter checked in on Wednesday with a response to Bobby Valentine's contention that he did not practice the back-hand flip play that he made so famous in the 2001 playoffs. It's been Jeter's assertion all along that it was a play the team practices. He reiterated that in an interview with ESPN on Wednesday.
"We practice it every year," Jeter says in the video above. "Maybe he hasn't seen it but we do it every year. If he wants to come over and watch, or someone can videotape it and send it to him. I have no reaction to it, really. Bobby is entitled to his opinion."
