Flyers' Carcillo tells coach he's ready to play

BOSTON -- Philadelphia Flyers forward Dan Carcillo and coach Peter Laviolette had a private conversation outside the visitor’s locker room this morning at TD Garden.

The team had just completed its morning skate and the coach wanted to know if Carcillo could play in the crucial Game 5 here tonight. Carcillo, who was injured early in Game 4 when he collided with Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara, attempted to play through the undisclosed injury but was on the bench for the third and overtime periods.

While both Carcillo and Laviolette say it will be a game-time decision, Carcillo was heard telling the coach he is ready to play.

“As far as our lineup tonight, we’ll have some game-time decisions,” Laviolette said during his early-afternoon press conference. “I thought Danny looked good on the ice.”
