Lightning coach Guy Boucher pulled a bit of a surprise in using Mike Smith as his starter in net for Game 5 against the Bruins at TD Garden.
Smith is making his first career postseason start.
Dwayne Roloson, the starter in every other Tampa Bay playoff game, was pulled with 2:04 left in the first period of Saturday's Game 4 after giving up three goals on nine shots. Smith came on in relief and didn't allow a goal as the Lightning came back to beat the Bruins 5-3. The best-of-seven series is tied at 2.
For what it's worth, an ESPNBoston.com poll indicated that 80 percent of respondents wanted to see Roloson between the pipes.
