Boston Bruins forward Rich Peverley will miss Friday night’s game with an undisclosed nagging injury.
Part of the thinking behind keeping Peverley out against the Florida Panthers at the TD Garden is that due to the Christmas break, the Bruins don’t play again until next Wednesday.
“We’re going to keep him out tonight, and go with what we thought was the best plan here, give him a whole week to hopefully recover and be in better shape when he gets back,” Julien told reporters.
Earlier this week, Julien said the injury is one Peverley -- who missed practice Wednesday and Thursday -- will need to deal with for the remainder of the season. For now they're hoping a little rest can do the trick.
"That's the goal, but at the same time we're not sure that we can totally eliminate it," Julien said. "So it's something we're going to have to deal with for the year. It's a little nagging injury that doesn't stop him from playing, but sometimes rest does a lot of good."
In 30 games this season, Peverley has 6 goals and 19 assists for 25 points.
