BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins' All-Star contingent continues to grow.
Bruins forward Tyler Seguin and defenseman Zdeno Chara were named Thursday to the team, joining teammate Tim Thomas, along with Boston’s entire coaching staff, for All-Star weekend later this month in Ottawa.
Chara is best known during the All-Star festivities as a four-time champ of the hardest shot competition. His record stands at 105.9 miles per hour. He currently leads all Bruins defensemen with seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points and a plus-27 rating.
Seguin participated in last year’s All-Star weekend as a rookie. He’s currently leading the Bruins with 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points. He’s also leading the NHL with a plus-33 rating.
Thomas was selected as a starter last week by the fans.
