The Rangers' Brian Boyle stoked the Boston-New York sports fire before Tuesday's meeting with the Bruins at TD Garden, saying he hates his hometown hockey team "with a passion."
Boyle is a Hingham native and Boston College alum, and while he roots for Boston's other sports teams, he draws the line on his Eastern Conference rival. Seeing the Bruins win the Cup last June while surrounded by fans of the Black and Gold didn't help matters.
"I'm a big Red Sox and Patriots fan, but I hate the Bruins. I hate them with a passion," Boyle said, according to CSNNE.com. "That's how it's supposed to be, I think, and that's how it's been for a while. Last year they won and it's congratulations to them, but it really made me upset. I was pretty angry about it.''
