Julien: McQuaid won't travel

Bruins coach Claude Julien told the media on Friday that Adam McQuaid's left eye has swollen shut and he will not travel with the team to New York for their games against the Islanders on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday.

McQuaid was injured Thursday night after going face-first into the end boards behind the Boston net from a hit by Capitals forward Jason Chimera. McQuaid was helped off the ice by teammates and did not return. Chimera was given a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct

Julien said Friday that McQuaid is day-to-day.
