UMass-Seton Hall set for Saturday morning

UMass' second-round NIT game at Seton Hall will be played Saturday at 11 a.m., and televised on ESPN.

The No. 5 seed Minutemen advanced by beating No. 4 Mississippi State, 101-96, in double overtime, while the top-seeded Pirates edged No. 8 seed Stony Brook, 63-61.

UMass hasn't had much luck against Seton Hall in recent years, losing 104-79 in Amherst on Dec. 11, 2010, and 86-68 in Newark on Dec. 7, 2009. The teams held a closed scrimmage before this season.

The winner will face the winner of Sunday's Drexel-Northern Iowa game, setting up the possibility of the Minutemen facing former UMass coach Bruiser Flint (now of Drexel) in the quarterfinals on March 20.
