In the video above, ESPN's Andy Katz says the academic scandal at Harvard could shake up the landscape of Ivy League basketball this season and surely hurts the Crimson's chances of repeating last year's success.
"Now Harvard is no longer the prohibitive favorite," he said. "Let's assume that Kyle Casey and Brandyn Curry will not play this season. If that occurs, then Harvard has lost its anchor inside, its most experienced player, and arguably one of the top two players in the Ivy League this season. In Brandyn Curry, a player that a number of staffers within the Ivy League told me is the irreplaceable piece on this Harvard team, they have lost their leader on the perimeter and their one true point guard who has any experience."
Katz noted that the scandal hurts all members of the Ivy League conference.
"This is not a good day for the league or for Harvard, certainly for this season," he says.
