Reese a finalist for Seahawks' GM job

ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that Patriots senior football advisor Floyd Reese appears to have the inside track for the Seattle Seahawks' general manager job. Reese interviewed with Seahawks coach Pete Carroll on Wednesday.

Reese is one of two finalists, according to Clayton, and will be asked to fly back to Seattle for a meeting with owner Paul Allen.

Reese and Carroll were on the same coaching staff with the Minnesota Vikings in 1985 under Bud Grant, so the two have a link from the past. The two apparently hit it off in the interview, according to Clayton's report.

In his role as senior football advisor with the Patriots, Reese has played a significant role in contract negotiations while serving as a veteran sounding board on personnel decisions.
