FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Second-year defensive lineman Ron Brace, who opened camp on the non-football injury list, participated in Sunday morning’s walkthrough. He lined up at left defensive end during the team’s “opportunity session” late in practice.
Quarterback Tom Brady also participated in practice, wearing white athletic tape around his index finger and middle finger on his throwing hand. At his Sunday morning press conference, head coach Bill Belichick indicated that Brady’s reported finger injury was not a major concern.
Players not seen on the practice field included wide receiver Torry Holt, offensive lineman Nick Kaczur, outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, and defensive backs Bret Lockett and Ross Ventrone. Meanwhile, linebacker Gary Guyton, cornerback Leigh Bodden, and wide receiver Matthew Slater -- who have missed recent practices because of injuries -- were all spotted on the field for the walkthrough session.
While no roster move has been made official, undrafted rookie wide receiver Buddy Farnham, who was waived by the team last week, returned to the Patriots practice field on Sunday morning. Also spotted at practice was an unidentified offensive lineman, wearing number 65; it did not appear to be Darnell Stapleton, who was also waived by the team last week.
Veteran outside linebacker Derrick Burgess, as expected, was present for his first practice.
