Previewing Bills-Steelers at Heinz Field

PITTSBURGH -- Welcome to Heinz Field, where the Buffalo Bills continue their preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers (7:30 p.m. ET).

Weather conditions: There's hardly a cloud in the sky this afternoon in Pittsburgh. Temperatures by kickoff are expected to remain in the upper-70s, with low humidity. There is no chance of rain and winds are light. Just about a perfect night for football.

Monitoring starters' time: Even though this is the NFL's second full preseason week, it's the third preseason game for the Bills. We saw starters play into the second quarter last Friday, so expect them to play through at least the first half Saturday. It wouldn't be surprising if some starters came out for the start of the third quarter. This will be our best chance yet to evaluate EJ Manuel and Sammy Watkins against a first-team defense.

Live tweets: We'll be tweeting before, during, and after the game. Those will appear in our Bills live feed.

Steratore gets the call: Tonight's official is Gene Steratore. Great note earlier Saturday from NFL blogger Brian McIntyre, who tallied 492 penalties through 22 preseason games this summer. That's an average of 11 penalties per team, per game. If Friday night's preseason contests were any indication, the laundry will be flying again tonight. The NFL's emphasis this season is on defensive holding and illegal contact calls.
