Bills granted blackout extension

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills have been granted a 24-hour extension to avoid a blackout of Sunday's game against the New York Jets, the team announced Thursday.

About 3,500 unsold tickets remained shortly before Thursday's 1 p.m. ET deadline. The team now has until 1 p.m. on Friday to sell those tickets.

If Sunday's game is not shown on local television in Buffalo, it would be the first NFL game blacked out this season.
