ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills had close to perfect attendance for the start of their voluntary offseason workouts on Tuesday.
Coach Doug Marrone said participation was in the "high 90s" percentage-wise and that he was in contact with players who were not present.
"We'll be at 100 percent shortly," he said. "What happens, guys, is legitimate things. People have babies, things like that. And we understand that."
Marrone stressed that the workouts are voluntary and said he was "extremely happy" with the participation among players.
Among those taking part in the workouts was quarterback EJ Manuel, who had knee surgery earlier this offseason. Manuel said he was a full participant in Tuesday morning's workout, which consisted only of strength and conditioning work.
"No limitations," Manuel said. "I feel great."
