C.J. Spiller's practice status upgraded

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller was upgraded to limited participation in practice Thursday, dealing with what head coach Doug Marrone called a "nagging" ankle injury.

"It's not 100 percent, but I think it's getting better and better," Marrone said. "I think what happens is, he goes and plays and it goes back and forth, so we're just trying to get over the top, where at least it's feeling better than it was feeling last week."

Marrone said the Bills may consider sitting Spiller at some point to give him more time to recover.

"If it's something that we see it as it's not progressing or better than the week before, that's obviously an option," Marrone said.

Meanwhile, the Bills upgraded wide receiver Steve Johnson to full participation Thursday, meaning he will likely play Sunday in Miami.
