Taking a look at the Buffalo Bills' roster, which stands at 90 players following the draft and undrafted free-agent signings:
Position: Inside linebacker
Drafted rookies: Tony Steward
Undrafted rookies: A.J. Tarpley
Rookie camp tryouts: Travaughn Pascal (Kentucky)
Early thoughts: After trading Kiko Alonso, the Bills need depth at this spot and are most likely to get it from Powell, whom Rex Ryan praised last week. Powell has been an effective special teams player for Buffalo the past two seasons but is largely untested in a full-time defensive role, so the Bills will have some questions if Bradham or Brown is injured. Ryan doesn't typically carry more than three or four players at this position on his 53-man roster, so Gaines, Steward and Tarpley are likely competing for one spot, at most. Special teams will be the determining factor.
