Luke Kuechly gets well-earned recognition

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly is one of the best tacklers in the NFL, and apparently a role model for future tacklers.

USA Football selected Kuechly to its 2013 All-Fundamentals Team that honors 26 players.

The team recognizes players who employ proper technique, particularly as it pertains to tackling and blocking, to encourage better performance and safety for young players learning the game.

Kuechly, who had 176 tackles this season, definitely does that. He keeps his head and eyes up and body square to make games such as his 24-tackle performance against New Orleans in Week 16 possible.

By being named to the team, Kuechly will receive a $1,500 equipment grant to donate to the youth or high school program of his choice.
