The Chicago Bears agreed to terms on a one-year deal with wide receiver/kick returner Deonte Thompson, the team said Thursday.

Thompson appeared in seven games last year with the Bears, returning 14 kickoffs for 409 yards. He also had two receptions for 81 yards with catches of 36 and 45 yards.

Thompson ranked second in kickoff-return average (minimum 10 returns) with 29.2 yards per return in 2015.

A four-year NFL veteran, Thompson has played in 21 total games with Baltimore (2012-13), Buffalo (2014) and the Bears.

Chicago originally signed Thompson to the practice squad on Sept. 22 before elevating him to the active roster on Nov. 10.
