Alshon Jeffery believes Bears can win Super Bowl next year

MINNEAPOLIS -- Chicago Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery avoided the topic of his personal future on Sunday, but he expressed extreme optimism regarding the Bears’ (3-13) outlook for the 2017 season.

‘’I guarantee you we’ll win the Super Bowl next year,” Jeffery said. “We had a lot of injuries. I don’t think a team in the league had as much injuries as us.”

Whether Jeffery will be around to see his proclamation come true is another story. Jeffery could test free agency unless the Bears apply the franchise tag again. Jeffery is expected to strongly explore all options if Chicago allows him to test the market.

Jeffery, 26, had only 52 receptions for 821 yards and two touchdowns this year, during which he served a four-game PED suspension, but he is still viewed as an upper-echelon NFL receiver.

“Right now, I’m a Chicago Bear,” Jeffery said after the Bears’ 38-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. “It’s business at the end of the day. Like I said, I’m a Chicago Bear.”
