"[He got hurt] in the game," Bears coach John Fox said. "He finished the game. I think he left for a play, came back, played and so I think it got more sore 48 hours after the game."
Trevathan participated in 60 of 61 defensive snaps in New Orleans, but he's sat out four straight practices and is questionable -- at best -- to suit up for Sunday's game against Green Bay.
The Bears can ill afford to lose Trevathan, who leads the defense with 52 total tackles.
Chicago is already without starting inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman, who's been on injured reserve since after Week 1 with a torn pectoral/concussion.
Back in Week 5, the Bears started the inside linebacker duo of Christian Jones and John Timu when Trevathan served a one-game suspension for an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit on Packers wide receiver Davante Adams. Timu had been out with knee/ankle injuries, but he's now practicing without restrictions.
Tight end Dion Sims (illness), cornerback Bryce Callahan (knee), cornerback Sherrick McManis (hamstring), defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris (hamstring) and offensive lineman Tom Compton (foot) also missed practice on Wednesday.
