CHICAGO -- Add “snowplow” to Jay Cutler’s gunslinger moniker in what’s shaping up to be a blowout over the Seattle Seahawks here at Soldier Field in the NFC divisional playoffs.
While Cutler owns a well-earned reputation for his gunslinging ways as a passer, the quarterback showed some nifty moves on a designed draw play in which he juked one way, before plowing over a Seahawks defender on the way to a 6-yard touchdown run.
The run capped a nine-play, 63-yard drive and put the Bears up 21-0 after Robbie Gould’s extra-point kick.
In addition to becoming the first quarterback to throw a touchdown pass on his first attempt in the postseason since 2002 (Chad Pennington), Cutler also scored his second rushing touchdown of the season, and now has five over his career.
Cutler’s scoring run came with 10:01 left in the second quarter.
