CHICAGO -- Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman left the game in the second quarter of the regular season opener with a leg injury against the Indianapolis Colts and won't return.
It's unclear how Tillman suffered the injury but he was taken back to the locker room for further evaluation.
Veteran reserve Kelvin Hayden replaced Tillman at cornerback. Hayden has plenty of experience having started a combined 47 games for both the Colts and Atlanta Falcons.
Tillman has been a model of durability throughout his NFL career and last missed a regular season game in 2009. He's made 126 starts since he entered the league in 2003 as the Bears second round draft choice.
