The matchup against the Seahawks marks the second time over the last three games the Bears made Moore a healthy scratch. According to Bears coach Lovie Smith, Moore’s inactivity has been performance related as the fourth-year veteran has been outplayed by Kelvin Hayden.
Moore is in the final year of his original rookie contract, which pays $1.26 million, and the corner’s lack of playing time could affect his value in free agency.
The move to the inactive list for Moore could be a result of the team’s need for healthy offensive linemen. During the Bears' win over the Minnesota Vikings, the club lost guards Lance Louis and Chris Spencer to injuries. When Louis went down with a knee injury, Gabe Carimi was the only remaining substitute on the active roster because the Bears listed James Brown among the inactives for that contest.
An undrafted rookie, Brown is on the active roster for Sunday’s game.
