Defensive Snap Count: Bears-Packers

The Chicago Bears lined up for 74 plays on defense although three were negated by Green Bay penalties. Here is a playtime breakdown of the Bears' 74 defensive snaps:

Nick Roach 74 (100%)

Major Wright 74

Chris Conte 74

Kelvin Hayden 74

Lance Briggs 74

Charles Tillman 73 (99%)

Israel Idonije 65 (88%)

Julius Peppers 63 (85%)

Corey Wootton 60 (81%)

Stephen Paea 59 (80%)

D.J. Moore 54 (73%)

Amobi Okoye 27 (36%)

Blake Costanzo 20 (27%)

Cheta Ozougwu 18 (24%)

Nate Collins 4 (5%)

Zack Bowman 1 (1%)

Analysis: With Geno Hayes inactive because of a knee injury, the Bears spent the majority of their snaps in the nickel package with Moore on the field 73 percent of the game. Costanzo got 20 snaps at strong side linebacker in his first NFL start while still participating in 18 special teams plays (64 percent). Even without Henry Melton available, the Bears only gave Collins four snaps at defensive, instead awarding more playing time to Okoye, who the team just re-signed last week. Rookie Shea McClellin's (knee) snaps were give to Ozougwu, who the team views as a pure pass rusher. Bowman replaced Tillman at cornerback on the one play the veteran had to miss.
