Second period wrap: Hawks 1, Panthers 0

The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Florida Panthers 1-0 after two periods at the United Center.

The Hawks were getting shots on goal at Tomas Vokoun but nothing was getting by until Brent Seabrook one-timed a puck from the circle to Vokoun’s right, on a Hawks power play. Duncan Keith set him up for the blast.

The Hawks have given up very few scoring chances in the first 40 minutes, allowing five shots on net in the second period and just 13 for the game.

Marcus Kruger, making his NHL debut for Chicago, was more noticeable around the puck in the second period but hasn’t registered a shot on goal yet.
