ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Chicago Blackhawks trail the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 after the first period at the Honda Center.
It was a crazy opening 20 minutes as each time had the momentum in the game only to give it back to the other.
The Ducks came out on fire scoring twice in the opening 2:13. A hard forecheck by Corey Perry led to a Bobby Ryan goal and then a minute later a point shot was directed in by Andrew Cogliano.
The Hawks responded when Patrick Sharp cleaned up in front of the Ducks' net after a hard-working shift by him, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews after Toews came out of the penalty box.
The teams then exchanged power-play tallies. Teemu Selanne was given time and space to score his eighth of the season then Dave Bolland scored on a back-door pass by Andrew Brunette with the man advantage.
