ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Chicago Blackhawks trail the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 after two periods at the Honda Center.
The Ducks improved on a 3-2 first intermission lead with a goal on just one of two shots they had in the first 14 minutes of the middle period.
Ryan Getzlaf put one on net with Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry crashing the slot. Ryan finished the chance for his second of the game.
The Hawks had their chances throughout the early portion of the period including two power plays but despite getting good looks at goalie Jonas Hiller they couldn’t dent the back of the net.
Anaheim scored twice in the opening two minutes of the game and have led by two goals three different times. Patrick Sharp and Dave Bolland have the Hawks’ tallies.
The Hawks outshot the Ducks 17 to 5 in the second.
