Sharp, who has five goals and 13 assists in 26 games this season, has missed the team's past two games with an upper-body injury. He also recently sat out 14 games due to an upper-body injury. He had been back for two games before his latest injury.
"We'll see [if he plays on Friday,]" Quenneville said after Wednesday's practice at Johnny's IceHouse West. "We'll get him into practice [Thursday,] get a better gauge on where he's at. We'll just say day-to-day. He looked alright."
With six regular season games remaining, Quenneville was asked if Sharp could be rested until the playoffs began.
"When he's ready and more than ready, we'll get him in there," Quenneville said. "We'll get him playing. We'll definitely be on the smart side of things."
Sharp was unavailable to the media after Wednesday's practice.
