Hossa sits out practice but plays vs. Sharks

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa missed the morning skate as the Blackhawks prepare to play the Sharks in San Jose on Saturday night.

“He’s fine,” said coach Joel Quenneville, confirming that Hossa will play in the game.

Despite two days off since the Blackhawks' previous game, it might just be another maintenance day for Hossa, who also sat out a practice Jan. 16.

Hossa has been red-hot for Chicago, with eight goals and 11 points in his past 10 games. For the season, Hossa has 23 goals and 23 assists.

UPDATE: Hossa was indeed on the ice for the first period at SAP Center, recording 10 shifts and 6 minutes, 29 seconds of ice time.
